Youth Employment Programme

Job readiness activity With young people

WBYI has a long track record of employment programmes that engage young people into positive outcomes. Young people are supported to build confidence and skills as they move into adulthood. The support targets many from disadvantaged households or those who are inactive or unemployed.

WBYI offers one to one support for young people and new opportunities through a range of community based initiatives including volunteering, work experience and environment work. WBYI encourages group work activity to develop soft skills such as communication skills and team working. Other opportunities include:

Volunteering @ WBYI – WBYI places an emphasis on people in leadership roles through project work activity that introduces problem solving,  raising self awareness and using  community initiatives to build young peoples practical skills  and understanding of  work experience.

Role models :   WBYI encourages young people  to engage with successful local  role models who are inspire change through programmes that benefit the greater good.  Our Trustees  and volunteers  include   past beneficiaries  of youth development  programmes  and have lived experience growing up in the BD5 area.
